The assignment was to make a wireless light switch in injection modeled plastic.
I wanted to make a dimmable and obvious light switch. The round shape is to show the movement direction. And the indent is to indicate that it can be pushed as well.
The light switch consists of 4 parts in plastic and one circuit board with a pushable and rotatable button.
To start out the project I made a mood board to visualize what I wanted the light switch to present.
I used Fusion360 to model all the part. Further, I used 3D printers to print out each part and assemble them. This took many iterations and I had to make adjustments along the way. To make the product render, I used KeyShot.
