Spring 2022
Laser cutter // Fusion360 // KeyShot
In this subject we had a project with two sub-projects. The first assignment was to make a peg for a children's room.
I chose to make a peg in a shape of a butterfly with a round and kind expression suitable for children.
It is turned in pine and has a 1 mm keyhole hanging steel plate in the back that attaches to the wall with two countersunk head screws.

The second assignment was to make packaging to the peg.
The packaging is made in 0.5 mm carton. It is one big piece with a long arm that folds around the peg.
I wanted the peg to show outside the packaging, so the costumer can feel the material and trust the product. It comes with two screws placed beside the peg. There is also to holes in the back of the packaging, showing the distance between the screws on the wall.

For the first assignment I began with hand sketching. Once I decided on the shape, I made the peg in Fusion360 and used KeyShot to make the product render.
For the packaging I started out with regular paper to get an idea and feeling of what would suit the Marielle peg. Further, I used a laser cutter to make the packaging in carton. It took many iterations before I got all the details in place, and I had to make small adjustments along the way.
